I am passionate about working with young adults going through life transitions, adolescent/young adult athletes, and individuals who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression and life transitions.
I am passionate about working with young adults going through the transition of adolescence into adulthood, as well as supporting and working with those who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression and other challenges related to life transitions. I am also passionate about working with adolescent/young adult athletes.
I have experience working with kids, teens and young adults with varied life experiences that may bring them to treatment, both in the individual and family setting. My background began working with teens in a wilderness therapeutic program, and facilitating growth and insight through experiential activities and experiences. I continue to use some of these techniques in my work with families and individuals. I then moved on to working with youth and teens in community-based and private practice settings, providing individual, group, family and crisis treatment. From there, I moved into higher education to support young adults with disabilities transitioning into and through college. And, as an ex-collegiate athlete who now works with college students, I enjoy supporting athletes around the challenges they experience in balancing school, life and their sport.
In treatment, I come from a place of identifying strengths and what works for each person. I believe that everyone gives the best they can in each moment, and we start our work from there. I believe that treatment is a collaborative experience, and I want to provide a safe space to share observations and insights during our time together. I take a client-centered, solution-focused approach, and often use CBT techniques in my work with clients. I also enjoy including mindfulness in treatment. My other passion in treatment is working with groups of people, so that may be families, parent groups, or general group treatment settings.
